I’m playing a solo and John’s conducting and we forgot to mention in the press stuff that we’re married 🙂 Probably would have been a nice hook but we totally forgot!
There’s been lots of concerts and John’s recipes we should have been posting – hopefully more posts soon!
We put things on Facebook and then forget to update here! John is the guest conductor for Tacoma Concert Band this Saturday, and Cindy is the clarinet soloist. TCB is conducted by Robert Musser, and this is the first time in many years that he is not conducting. John is honored!

I suppose I should list this on the front page of the blog! Nice article in the printed newspaper:
This is my first post in the “Music Appreciation” category, so if you’re looking for recipes, sorry! This blog is intended to be multi-topic – we just happened to only post recipes so far. Subscribe to the “food” category on the right for recipes, or enjoy non-food posts!
Bing Crosby was born in Tacoma on May 3, 1903, and he was a recent mention in my Music Appreciation class. This weekend on TCM, they’re showing the classic movie High Society, which stars Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and there’s a scene with Louis Armstrong. I’ve only seen that one scene so I’m recording the whole movie this time and watching it : http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/78008/High-Society/
He’s mentioned in the class mainly as a contrast to Louis Armstrong, so it’s interesting to see the two together in the movie.
Here’s Bing Crosby’s version of “Dinah”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlPLXNsz4GA
